Job Description - Finance Manager

Position Summary:

The Finance Manager is responsible for the accounting, tax compliance, statutory reporting, and financial control activities across a portfolio of legal entities, including manufacturing operations and investment holding entities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with local statutory and tax requirements, strong internal controls, and effective support to business stakeholders.

The Finance Manager will work closely with operational management, corporate finance, external auditors, tax advisors, and shared service teams to maintain financial integrity and support business objectives.

PrimaryResponsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for multiple legal entities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and corporate policies.
  • Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Perform analytical reviews of financial performance and investigate significant variances.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting deadlines.

2. Tax Compliance& Management

  • Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance across all assigned entities.
  • Manage preparation and review of:
  • Corporate income tax returns
  • VAT/GST returns
  • Withholding tax filings
  • Transfer pricing documentation
  • Tax provisions and deferred tax calculations
  • Coordinate tax audits and inquiries with external advisors and tax authorities.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impact.
  • Identify opportunities for tax efficiency while maintaining full compliance.

3. Manufacturing Finance Oversight

  • Support the manufacturing entity on accounting and financial control matters.
  • Review inventory valuation and ensure accurate costing methodologies.
  • Monitor inventory reconciliation processes and physical stock counts.
  • Ensure proper accounting for: Raw materials, Work-in-progress, finished goods, Manufacturing overheads
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve cost control and inventory management.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Oversee the AP and AR processing functions.

4. Statutory Compliance & Audit

  • Manage statutory reporting requirements for all entities.
  • Coordinate annual external audits and statutory filings.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve financial disclosures and supporting schedules.

5. Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Maintain a strong internal control environment across all entities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and delegation of authority requirements.
  • Review key financial controls and implement process improvements where required.
  • Support internal audit reviews and remediation of audit findings.
  • Identify financial and compliance risks and develop mitigation plans.

6. Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to drive standardization and best practices.
  • Build effective relationships with business leaders, external advisors, and auditors.

7. Process Improvement & Projects

  • Drive finance transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support ERP implementation, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
  • Improve reporting efficiency and control effectiveness.
  • Participate in corporate finance projects, legal entity restructurings, and acquisition integrations as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Experience

  • Min 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Experience managing accounting and tax activities across multiple legal entities.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in multinational companies and shared-service environments.
  • Exposure to SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
