Fund Accountant (Real Estate)

Reporting to the Controller APAC, you will be the pioneer team member to join one of the largest real estate developers in the world who acquire, develop, and manage logistics, office, life science, and residential real estate properties.

Key responsibilities:

This role oversees the accounting and finance functions of property and investment holding entities in the APAC region by liaising with outsourced service providers, banks, and internal teams.

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports, tax returns, statutory filings, and loan compliance information for all entities.
• Ensure proper controls are implemented for bank account arrangements and payment processes.
• Review of budgets, variance analysis and returns calculations prepared by external service providers.
• Produce and oversee liquidity and cashflow projections of entities.
• Manage bank loan drawdown process for ongoing capex or working capital.
• Ensure timely interest payments and monitor compliance against debt covenants.
• Ensure adherence of workflows against fund/deal tax structuring advice and manage governance of entities.
• Leads the setup of new entities and bank accounts to support new investments.
• Support queries from internal teams as required.
• Any other ad-hoc finance duties and initiatives as required.

Qualifications and attributes

• Approximately 8 years’ working experience.
• Excellent academic background with accounting qualifications (CPA/ACCA/equivalent).
• Previous experience in a Big 4 real estate/private equity audit team or fund controlling/operation experience in real estate investment management company preferred.
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, communication and project management skills.
• Strong work ethics, independent and comfortable working in a fast growing, entrepreneurial environment.
