Global Wholesale Director

Role Overview

The Global Wholesale Director is responsible for designing, leading, and scaling the company’s global wholesale foreign exchange (FX) strategy. The role oversees commercial performance, operational excellence, regulatory governance, and partner relationships across all wholesale markets. This position ensures the wholesale business delivers sustainable profitability, operational resilience, and best‑in‑class service to banks, financial institutions, and strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Leadership

·        Define and execute the global wholesale FX strategy, aligned with Group objectives.

·        Lead multi‑market expansion, including new corridors, new currencies, and new institutional partnerships.

·        Own global P&L performance, EBITDA delivery, and long‑term commercial planning.

·        Drive transformation initiatives to modernize processes, technology, and operating models.

2. Commercial & Business Development

·        Develop and manage strategic relationships with banks, financial institutions, and global partners.

·        Lead pricing strategy, commercial negotiations, and contract governance.

·        Identify and convert new revenue opportunities across regions and product lines.

·        Oversee global sourcing, liquidity management, and currency procurement strategy.

3. Operational Excellence

·        Ensure robust end‑to‑end wholesale operations, including logistics, cash management, and supply chain efficiency.

·        Standardize global SOPs, controls, and service delivery frameworks.

·        Partner with Security, Logistics, and Retail divisions to optimize cost and operational performance.

4. Governance, Risk &Compliance

·        Ensure full compliance with AML, KYC, sanctions, and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.

·        Strengthen global risk management frameworks and internal controls.

·        Lead audit readiness and regulatory engagement for wholesale operations.

5. Leadership & People

·        Build and lead ahigh‑performing global team across multiple markets.

·        Develop talent pipelines and succession plans for critical wholesale roles.

·        Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience

·        15+ years in FX, financial services, or cash logistics, with multi‑market leadership experience.

·        Proven track record in P&L ownership and delivering EBITDA growth.

·        Strong understanding of wholesale FX, liquidity, sourcing, and operational risk.

·        Experience managing regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.

·        Exceptional stakeholder management and commercial negotiation skills.

·        Ability to lead transformation and build scalable global operating models.
