Since our establishment in 2015, we manage Real Tech Funds, a leading deep-tech startup platform with US$300M+ AUM and 100+ portfolio companies across Japan and Global.

The Opportunity

UntroD Capital is expanding its Global Fund team based in Singapore. We are looking for a high-potential, early-career professional who wants to build conviction at the frontier of innovation—and work directly with founders to help them scale.

Important context on our culture and title:
UntroD is intentionally flat. We don’t operate with heavy hierarchy or narrow job labels. Internally, everyone is a “Growth Manager”—because everyone is expected to take ownership, drive outcomes, and contribute to growth of portfolios and the firm.

That said, this role is very much an investment professional role. You will work across the core responsibilities of venture investing: sourcing, research, diligence, investment decision support, and portfolio value creation, with full exposure to investment committee processes.

What You’ll Do

You will work across the full lifecycle of early-stage investing and portfolio support:

1. Investment Research & Sourcing

• Conduct thematic research to map emerging opportunities in focus areas such as energy transition, advanced materials, supply chain resilience, and other relevant domains.

• Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline through market mapping, founder outreach, ecosystem engagement, and inbound screening.
  
  

1. Evaluation & Due Diligence 

• Support end-to-end diligence across technical, commercial, financial, legal, and operational dimensions.

• Analyze market structure, competitive dynamics, business models, unit economics, and go-to-market assumptions.

• Interview founders, customers, and domain experts to validate problem, solution, and adoption drivers.

• Draft and present structured outputs (e.g., investment memos, thesis notes, IC-ready materials).
  
  

1. Portfolio Growth & Value Creation

• Partner with portfolio founders on strategic and operational priorities—e.g., GTM strategy, partnerships, hiring, fundraising preparation.

• Activate UntroD networks across corporates, universities, labs, and institutions to create tangible outcomes for founders.
  
  

1. Fund & Firm Building

• Support fundraising and LP engagement through research, portfolio updates, and materials.

• Contribute to platform initiatives that strengthen UntroD’s presence and value in Southeast Asia and globally.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

This role is designed for early-career candidates (0–3 years of experience) with exceptional learning velocity, strong judgment, and comfort with ambiguity.

Required

• 0–3 years of experience in a dynamic environment (e.g., corporate finance, consulting, business development, high-growth startups, research commercialization, or technical roles with business exposure).

• High ownership and pace: you’re proactive, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities without heavy process.

• Strong analytical skills and structured thinking: you can break down complex problems, form a view, and defend it with evidence.

• Clear written and verbal communication—able to synthesize insights for founders, partners, and stakeholders.
  
  

Nice to Have

• STEM education or exposure to science/engineering-heavy products.

• Demonstrated interest in ecosystem building with exposure to Southeast Asia VC (operators, investors, accelerators, university labs)

• Experience conducting investment-style research.
