Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager or PMO professional to lead and support technology projects within a global environment. This role will be responsible for planning, coordination, governance, and successful delivery of projects while ensuring alignment with business objectives. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders across regions, including teams and clients who communicate in Japanese, therefore proficiency in Japanese is required to effectively perform the job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects across applications, infrastructure, or digital transformation domains to meet business objectives
• Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource plans to ensure clear project direction and feasibility
• Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies to maintain project health
• Ensure project delivery meets quality, regulatory, and business requirements for compliance and effectiveness
• Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, reporting standards, and documentation to support transparency and control
• Track project performance using KPIs and dashboards to provide actionable insights for decision-making
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, audit requirements, and industry standards to mitigate risks
• Support portfolio tracking and project prioritization to align resources with strategic goals
• Engage business, technology, and external stakeholders to align objectives and expectations for collaborative success
• Facilitate meetings, steering committees, and status reviews to maintain stakeholder engagement and project momentum
• Provide clear and timely communication across stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and alignment
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize impact on project outcomes
• Manage change requests and ensure proper approval and documentation to control project scope
• Drive issue resolution in collaboration with relevant teams to maintain project progress
• Act as a liaison between Japanese-speaking stakeholders and global teams to bridge communication gaps
• Translate business requirements, discussions, and documentation where required to ensure clarity
• Ensure clarity and alignment across multicultural teams to foster effective collaboration

Required competencies and certifications

• Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) to communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders and review project materials
• Proficiency in English for internal communication and documentation

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience working in financial services, banking, or regulated industries
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall
• Experience in project planning tools and reporting dashboards
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
