Department Overview

The Operations & Trade Support department perform efficient day-to-day administrative and operational functions of a business. They implement processes, ensure helpful services for customers, and perform the primary tasks of the organization.

Trade Support assists the trading desk and the operations team daily, dealing with any issues/tasks which may arise and to make sure they are dealt with in a professional and fluent manner. 

Job Overview

The Operations Manager supervises the day-to-day routines, monitors performance and makes sure everything is done in compliance with the organization’s needs.

Focusing on Payments and Reconciliations, the role ensures the company mitigates financial risk and provides a valued service to its clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities of the MonFX Operations and Settlements team
• Provide advice or guidance for the Monex Group Operations where necessary
• Liaise with Clients, Brokers and Banks to facilitate settlement of FX transactions and cash flows
• Oversee account reconciliation, remediation and liquidity management
• Ensure all payment error investigations and resolutions are completed daily
• Manage client rolls or drawn downs for FX contracts
• Manage daily swaps to maintain liquidity in all currencies
• Adhere to compliance processes and operational manuals
• Ensure the institution's policies and procedures are followed according to established guidelines
• Oversee preparation of monthly account financial reconciliation reports
• Perform daily OTC derivatives reporting
• Provide solutions of client disputes and follow through accordingly
• Create strategies with senior management and develop policies that are align to their strategies
• Identify critical factors, evaluate options accurately, establish priorities and anticipate outcomes to support informed decision making
• Execute and oversee the Monetary Authority of Singapore regulatory submissions with care and precision
• Play a key role in establishing and strengthening local banking relationships
• Build relationships and on-board new Liquidity Partners, Counterparty banks
• Perform risk-based capital computations for FX derivatives products on behalf of the Group Risk & Treasury Department
• Provide guidance to MonFX’s front office on liquidity, margin and capital requirements for FX derivatives products
• Develop and implement new processes to support emerging/new FX Client product offerings

What are we looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
• Prior experience working within a regulated firm
• Proven track record of supervising a team within a commercial environment
• Strong knowledge of Global and jurisdiction: Banking, currency, country and Payment Regulations etc.
• In-depth knowledge of the regulatory environment in which an FX firm and payment service provider operates
• Clear grasp of the objectives and importance of risk management and compliance in regulated environments
• Solid knowledge of FX markets, payments and derivative products
• Advanced experience of International Payments, and different mediums of transfer i.e. SWIFT
• Proficiency in performing accounting reconciliations
• Ability to provide FX product solutions for internal processes and prospect clients on settlement of currencies
• Strong aptitude for developing banking/brokering relationships and providers for communication channels
• Forward thinking approach for operational analysis on innovative client processes
• Capability to recommend and implement system enhancements to build a strong operational infrastructure for both client portal and internal processes
• High level of currency and country regulation knowledge for FX products and payments
• Ability to plan and implement cost effective initiatives relating to operational charges
