Quant Developer

ROLE OVERVIEW:
Support the strategic direction and operational execution of our technology infrastructure to drive alpha generation, risk management, and operational efficiency. The Quant Developer will help bridge the gap between the investment team and technology, ensuring our systems provide competitive advantage in trade execution, data analysis, and portfolio management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Trading Technology: Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of the Order Management System(OMS), Execution Management System (EMS) and Portfolio Management System (PMS),supporting seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

2. Investment Technology: Support data science infrastructure underpinning quantitative research and machine learning initiatives. Assist in implementing emerging technologies (AI/ML, cloud-native architectures) for alpha generation and portfolio optimisation. Work with the investment team to develop technical solutions for ongoing projects.

3. Architecture and Design: Assist in designing and implementing system components, with a focus on reliability and performance. Support the development of data pipelines for market data, alternative data sources, and fundamental research datasets.

4. Data Governance: Support the implementation of data governance practices, contributing to data quality, lineage, and security processes under the guidance of senior team members.

5. Infrastructure & Operations: Assist in maintaining cloud and on-premise infrastructure, supporting security, scalability, and cost optimisation. Contribute to cybersecurity practices including monitoring and vulnerability management under senior supervision.

6. Vendor Management: Assist in managing relationships with technology vendors (market data providers, prime brokerage tech, cloud services) and support tracking of technology expenditure.

7. Regulatory & Compliance: Assist in maintaining systems supporting regulatory reporting, trade surveillance, and audit trails. Liaise with compliance and legal teams on technology-related matters as required.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

1. Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Computer Science, Communication Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields*: A strong foundation in computer science, software engineering, or information technology is essential. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

2. Relevant certifications: Certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Developer, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) can be beneficial.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 0-2 years of experience in technology or finance or related industry (fresh graduates welcome): Prior experience or exposure to software development, cloud computing, data analytics, scripting is advantageous. Exposure to financial markets, quantitative analysis, or trading platforms through internships, coursework, or personal projects is a plus.

2. Eagerness to learn and collaborate: Ability to work effectively within a small, high-performance team, take direction from senior colleagues, and proactively develop skills relevant to financial technology.

3. Strong technical skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, MySQL or MATLAB, as well as experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

4. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
