Job Title: Regional Accounting Manager (ASEAN)
Reports To: Regional Finance Director

Job Scope
The Regional Accounting Manager ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timely submission of financial data across all regional entities. This role standardises financial policies, consolidates financial statements across subsidiaries, guarantees local statutory and tax compliance, and drives process efficiencies within the region.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee period-end closing: Drive monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes for all regional entities under tight deadlines.
Regional consolidation: Consolidate multi-currency financial statements across various subsidiaries.
Corporate standardisation: Ensure financial statements align perfectly with both Local GAAP and Corporate Standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP, or SFRS).
Variance analysis: Prepare regional management reports, tracking actual performance against budget and historical data.
Governance, Tax & Compliance
• Local statutory adherence: Ensure full compliance with regional corporate regulations, filing deadlines, and statutory audits.
• Tax management: Coordinate with local consultants to file indirect taxes (VAT/GST) and corporate income taxes across jurisdictions.
• Transfer pricing: Manage regional transfer pricing documentation and cross-border intra-group transactions.
• Internal controls: Design, review, and standardise robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal controls.
Team Leadership & Business Partnering
• Team management: Supervise, mentor, and upskill local and shared services accounting personnel.
• External relations: Serve as the chief liaison for regional external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries.
• Operational support: Act as a critical financial business partner to Regional Country Managers and operational leaders.
System & Process Automation
• ERP governance: Standardise data entry and reporting configurations within regional Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. (SAP)
• Efficiency optimization: Leverage modern software, automation toolsets, and AI capabilities to streamline reconciliations and reporting workflows.
Job Requirements
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree: Accountancy, Finance, or a highly business-related discipline.
• Professional qualification: Active CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent credential.
Experience
• Years of experience: 6 to 10+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience, with at least 3 years in a regional or multi-entity capacity.
• Cross-border background: Demonstrated experience managing multi-currency consolidations and diverse foreign tax frameworks.
Technical & Soft Skills
• Technical mastery: Advanced knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS/US GAAP).
• Software proficiency: High proficiency in large-scale ERP software and advanced data analysis via Microsoft Excel.
• Communication skills: Excellent spoken and written English, paired with strong cross-cultural stakeholder management.
