Regulatory Compliance Officer (Banking)

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments and assess their impact on the bank’s operations and business activities.
• Provide regulatory compliance advisory to business units on applicable laws, regulations, MAS notices, guidelines, and internal policies.
• Conduct compliance reviews and monitoring programs to assess adherence to regulatory requirements and identify control gaps.
• Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks across the organization.
• Review and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders on regulatory matters, inspections, and inquiries.
• Prepare regulatory reports, compliance management updates, and governance committee materials.
• Provide compliance training and regulatory awareness programs to employees.
• Support compliance risk assessments and contribute to the development of risk mitigation measures.
• Assist in regulatory projects, policy enhancements, and remediation initiatives arising from audits or regulatory reviews.

Requirements

• Degree in Law, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–10 years of regulatory compliance experience within banking, financial institutions, asset management, or securities firms.
• Strong knowledge of MAS regulations, banking regulations, compliance frameworks, and regulatory risk management.
• Experience in compliance advisory, regulatory monitoring, policy review, and stakeholder management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
• Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, and senior management stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, CFA, FRM, or compliance-related qualifications would be advantageous.
