Responsibilities:

• Conduct market and industry research across APAC financial services and insurance sectors
• Analyze business models, competitive positioning, financial performance, and product offerings of target companies
• Evaluate distribution channels and sales strategies within the industry
• Gather insights from investment firms, consulting companies, and other relevant sources
• Monitor and assess market trends, industry developments, and emerging opportunities
• Perform on-site field research through overseas travel within APAC
• Identify and evaluate potential M&A target companies
• Engage with local companies, industry experts, and stakeholders for intelligence gathering
• Integrate desk research and field findings into comprehensive market analyses
• Prepare reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior management
• Present findings in Japanese to executives and stakeholders
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and analysis

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in market research, industry analysis, company analysis, financial services, or M&A
• Proficiency in Japanese language for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Willingness to travel overseas within the APAC region for field research
• Experience in financial services such as insurance, investment banking, securities, or related fields is an added advantage
• Practical involvement in M&A activities including target sourcing, company valuation, deal evaluation, and transaction execution
• Experience participating in M&A projects as part of a project team
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
