Senior Executive, Finance (12 Months Contract)

Job Summary

Primarily responsible for Singapore Branch operational accounting and regulatory reporting support and all aspects of financial management reporting support as required.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve journal entries to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies.
• Prepare month-end and quarter-end journals
• Perform key month-end closing activities such as updating currency exchange rate and currency revaluation
• Support regulatory reporting requirements including preparation of MAS returns, support for Singapore statistical surveys if any.
• Other regulatory and operational support to inter-departments as needed
• Prepare, review, and ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, with proper resolution of variances.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with SOX requirements
• Support internal and external audits. Liaise with team members and inter-departments.
• Monthly bank and policy account value reconciliation
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks or projects initiatives as assigned by management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in in Accounting or related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience in GL and reporting functions. Experience in Life insurance industry will be an advantage
• Good knowledge of accounting entries and Standards
• Proficient in Excel is a must
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, motivating and fostering teamwork
• Keen learner and ability to adapt to changes
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to details
• Bringing Clarity – managing change, diagnostic information gathering
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
