Senior Manager – Global Freight Logistics

We are partnering with a leading global commodity trading and agribusiness firm to find a strategic logistics leader. Reporting straight to the executive leadership team, you will own the global container freight strategy and ensure cost-effective, seamless commodity transport worldwide.

about the job

• Overarching global freight program and mentor a high-performing logistics team, implementing continuous process improvements and robust contingency plans to navigate market volatility

• Formulate advanced freight pricing strategies and lead high-stakes negotiations with global shipping lines and forwarders to secure highly competitive rates and optimize margins

• Oversee the end-to-end execution of specialized container shipments (including ISO-tanks and bulk liquid flexitanks), proactively managing space allocation to prevent port rollovers while overseeing international warehouse operations
•  Act a critical advisor to global trading desks and trade operations, using logistics data and market insights to drive commercial growth, manage costs, and build strong external vendor partnerships
• Demonstrate deep technical knowledge of international shipping documentation, freight rate hedging, and port operations, with highly specific expertise in Southeast Asian (Indonesia/Malaysia) export regulations and Incoterms

skills and experience required

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in freight logistics, with at least 5 years in a senior management or HOD-level role
• Proven leadership capabilities with strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and people development skills
• Familiarity with international trade regulations, shipping documentation, and port operations — including Indonesia/Malaysia export regulations and Incoterms
• Prior experience in global container shipping (as an exporter or freight forwarder) with sound knowledge of freight pricing, forwarding practices, and freight rate hedging
