About Ascenda, Engagement Team

The Engagement team is committed to empowering our clients within our ecosystem. We help clients provide end users with a loyalty program platform that is fast, friendly UX, and accessible UI with many redemption options: Gift Cards, Offers, Merchandise, Travel Flight, Hotels, and Transfer Points. Our platforms are customizable from colors, and typography to fully dynamic homepage content that can be self-served via the admin application.

About the Role

We are seeking individuals with a keen enthusiasm for shaping something entirely novel from its foundation. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for those passionate about solving real-world challenges by crafting cutting-edge APIs and designing high-quality, user-friendly, and accessible interfaces. Join our dynamic team and lead innovation at the forefront. Work closely with a small, agile group to create features that automate tasks and empower merchants with seamless self-onboarding and content management. Your role promises a significant impact, contributing to the development of an innovative solution.

As a Senior Software Engineer with the team you will:

  • Maintain the frontend platform, evolving its architecture to ensure it supports accessible, user-friendly UX, high performance, and scalability for millions of users.
  • Improve the developer experience to help other team members fall into the pit of success.
  • Optimize and stabilize CI/CD to improve team velocity.
  • Help own & coordinate major delivery timelines for the projects you own
  • Solve big data & hi-traffic problems from the many suppliers we integrate across the ecosystem - problems of performance, multi-tenancy, multi-locale, and self-serve configurations
  • Work closely with designers, product owners, and engineers from multiple teams to develop and design solid user experiences.
  • Mentor and guide the growth of junior developers, and act as a gatekeeper for our Travel team's engineering practices and development culture

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Good technical background in building large-scale web applications on a modern frontend stack.
  • Have experience participating in technical roadmaps/RFCs to communicate technical strategy and resolve architectural problems. Have experience mentoring and coaching your junior engineers.
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the organization
  • You are passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality.
  • At least 5 years of development experience. Prior experience in the travel technology industry is a bonus
  • Prior experience building configurable UX, or accessible design system components.
