Senior Solution Architect – Financial Software Modernization & AI Transformation

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Solution Architect with deep financial industry experience to join our global finance delivery team. You will lead the modernization of mission-critical legacy enterprise systems—including mainframe(COBOL) and Java EE-based stacks—as part of a strategic, Gen AI-powered refactoring initiative. This role combines software architecture, DevOps, and AI-driven engineering, and requires you to actively partner with clients on proof-of-concept validations and the design of transformation roadmaps. You will guide the journey from monolithic, mainframe-reliant architectures to cloud-native microservices, while embedding AI into both the development lifecycle and the end-customer experience. 

Domain Expertise

• Solid understanding of banking business domains: core banking systems, payments, lending/credit products and associated processes.
• Awareness of financial regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., MAS, PDPA)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural transformation strategy from legacy mainframe/Java EE systems to modern microservices aligned with Java LTS and open standards.
• Define cloud-native patterns, microservices design, API standards, and integration approaches tailored to core banking, payments, and lending platforms.
• Collaborate with our HQ product team, to apply AI agent and LLM-assisted development frameworks to boost large scale developer productivity, code quality, and business outcomes.
• Partner with clients to run PoC validations of AI agents in large-scale software engineering, and apply AI to improve customer journeys and internal user experiences.
• Provide comprehensive technical and professional services proposals for modernizing systems to microservices, including assessment, architecture blueprints, and implementation roadmaps.
• Support product and engineering teams with technical guidance, solution blueprints, and implementation oversight.

Tech Skill Requirements

• Strong foundation in software development: Java, Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, etc.).
• Working knowledge of mainframe environments and COBOL; practical experience maintaining, interfacing with, or migrating legacy mainframe applications.
• Proven ability to integrate Gen AI, LLM, or AI agent technologies into engineering workflows and customer-facing applications.
• Strong understanding of microservices, API management, security, and enterprise integration patterns.

Nice to Have Certifications

• AWS/Azure/GCP Solution Architect, or similar architecture certifications.
• Mainframe modernization or COBOL-related certifications are a plus
