I am looking for a senior trading analyst for my agriculture commodities client, they are expanding their quantitative and fundamental infrastructure to ensure the data ecosystem translates directly into a trading edge across physical, proprietary, basis, and spread portfolios. This senior role sits at the intersection of complex data modeling and commercial execution, working directly with senior trading professionals to shape actionable market strategies.

about the job

• Construct and scale dynamic, real-time supply and demand models for major global production origins and primary consumption destinations.
• Monitor and analyze regional acreage, crop health trends, yield expectations, processing velocity, and forward export allocations via collaboration with global teams.
• Model consumption patterns across key global manufacturing hubs using real-time local intelligence, macro datasets, and alternative data streams.
• Deliver actionable weekly market insights and maintain high-conviction medium- to long-term macro forecast reports.
• Own the analytics for competing synthetic and man-made materials, building frameworks to track substitution thresholds at the industrial level.
• Develop and refine analytical scripts (Python/R) to automate data aggregation and deliver clean, visual insights directly to traders.
• Leverage the structure of the futures curve, calendar spreads, options skew, and implied volatility to identify structural market dislocations.

skills and experience required

• At least 6 years of professional experience in agricultural commodities, softs, or related global energy/macro research spaces.
• Advanced understanding of physical market mechanisms, including basis trading, cash-to-futures convergence, and curve dynamics.
• Proven track record of building and owning multi-variable supply and demand balance sheets that drive commercial decisions.
• Strong quantitative capability, with professional proficiency in Excel and at least one programming language (Python highly preferred).Commercial clarity: The ability to translate complex, ambiguous data into a definitive, actionable trading thesis.
• Familiarity with exchange microstructure, regulatory reporting data, and derivative positioning analysis.
• Experience analyzing global bio-fuel or renewable policy impacts on broader agricultural markets.
