I am seeking a commercially driven Senior Trading Manager to lead and expand physical non-ferrous metals trading business, focusing on refined copper and zinc ingot products. The successful candidate will manage physical trading activities across Asia and Europe, cultivate strategic counterparty relationships, lead a high-performing trading team, and drive sustainable portfolio profitability.

about the job

• Lead and execute physical trading activities for refined copper and zinc ingot products across Asian and European markets to consistently achieve volume and P&L targets.

• Develop and implement robust trading strategies while actively managing trading positions, market exposures, and derivatives hedging within approved risk parameters.

• Originate, negotiate, and structure physical purchase and sales transactions, aggressively expanding the company’s portfolio of global suppliers and end-users.

• Continuously monitor and analyze global macroeconomic trends, supply-demand fundamentals, freight markets, and regulatory shifts to capture emerging arbitrage opportunities.

• Mentor, guide, and scale the trading team, establishing clear performance metrics and fostering a high-performance, entrepreneurial, and collaborative culture.

• Partner closely with internal logistics, finance, legal, and risk management teams to ensure seamless, compliant, and cost-effective end-to-end transaction execution.

skills and experience required

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, backed by a minimum of 10 years of successful physical commodities trading experience (with a heavy focus on non-ferrous metals).
• Deep technical knowledge of refined copper and zinc ingot products, including solid familiarity with global supply chains, LME/SHFE pricing mechanisms, and structured trade finance.
• A proven, active commercial network of producers, traders, and end-users across the non-ferrous metals sector in Asia and/or Europe.
• Strong proficiency in risk management, including hands-on experience using derivatives, futures, and options for hedging physical book exposures.
• Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities; proficiency in Mandarin is highly advantageous to effectively collaborate with regional counterparties and key supply chain stakeholders.
