Senior Vice President, Country Head, Vietnam

• Working together with the Singapore-based Pentagreen Investment Team, source and originate debt financing transactions in Vietnam, with a focus on sustainable infrastructure (including, but not limited to, renewables and storage, sustainable transport/ clean mobility, waste, water and circular economy, data centre, logistics, other “green” infrastructure)
• Pro-actively and comprehensively cover the market, connecting with relevant companies, government counterparties, advisors, local banks and other market participants to ensure regular and high-quality deal-flow
• Build local relationships and act as the Vietnam country coverage head, building in depth and broad understanding of the market
• Contribute to deal execution, presentation of deals at Investment Committee, post-investment deal and relationship management through to exit
• Support discussions with capital providers, including shareholders, strategic partners, catalytic capital providers and other sources of capital in conjunction with the capital formation team and the CEO
• Develop expertise in across sustainable infrastructure in Vietnam, such as renewables and storage, sustainable transport/ clean mobility, waste, water and circular economy, and/ or ancillary sectors such as green datacentres, logistics, others
• Work with the team, the CEO, strategic partners, shareholders and other market stakeholders to contribute to the establishment of Pentagreen Capital as a differentiated and valuable provider of debt finance for sustainable infrastructure in Vietnam and broader in Asia

Skills And Experience

• 9-15+ years of experience in infrastructure or related sectors in Vietnam, with a demonstrated network in the country and a successful track record of relationship and deal sourcing and origination within Pentagreen’s target sectors
• Ability to source greenfield and brownfield financings across the capital structure
• Independent, self-starter, ability to work autonomously and remotely in the Vietnam market with oversight from Singapore
• Credit skills and ability to diligence, structure and execute debt transactions
• Origination network in Vietnam in particular; deep knowledge of the Vietnam infrastructure market in one or more of the subsectors of focus for Pentagreen Capital
• Excellent internal and external relationship management skills, a flair for client management in Vietnam, origination and networking skills
• Excellent attention to detail, strong project management, focus on the end-goal to steer deals to financial close; “principal investment” mentality with strong risk assessment and risk management
• Exceptional presentation (written/ verbal), analytical (quantitative/ qualitative) and communication (written/ verbal) skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit, deal-maker mentality, desire to build a business, hunger and creativity
• A passion for the sector, the economic development of Vietnam, innovations in infrastructure and energy, understanding of the problems facing the sector and alignment with the vision and mission of Pentagreen Capital
• Understanding of development finance and emerging markets issues in ESG, familiarity with IFC E&S Performance Standards and ability to communicate such standards to borrowers
• Excellent educational credentials from a leading university
• Native-level Vietnam language skills
• Ability and willingness to travel
