Software Tester

Team and Position Summary

The Software Tester will be a member of the Project Delivery Unit in NETS Solutions and will report to the Test Lead and the Project Manager of the project being assigned. The Software Tester will work closely with the business users, product analysts and developers to prepare test plans, draft test cases, execute testing, report on testing results, support queries, support execution of user acceptance and industry testing for projects etc. The objective is to ensure and contribute to the quality of application code before releasing to production system for the customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Execution Planning & Strategy

o   Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for financial applications and systems, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.

o   Create data-driven test scripts to validate web applications and API functionality across multiple browsers and databases.

o   Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing using Tricentis Tosca.

• Functional & Non-Functional Testing

o   Perform functional testing of financial products and systems, ensuring they meet business specifications and user requirements.

o   Conduct non-functional testing, including performance, load, and security testing, to ensure system reliability and robustness under varying conditions.

• Automation & Manual Testing

o   Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Java, Appium, or others suited to the financial environment.

o   Execute manual tests for complex financial applications, handling scenarios where automation is not feasible.

o   Perform API automation testing using RestAssured and Java (BDD).

o   Execute automated tests across multiple browsers and platforms to ensure application compatibility and reliability.

o   Conduct performance testing using JMeter to simulate realistic user interactions and workload scenarios.

• Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

o   Participate in the audit and review processes for testing documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

• Defect Identification & Management

o   Identify, track, and manage defects found during testing in collaboration with development teams.

o   Ensure that identified issues are communicated clearly, prioritized appropriately, and resolved in a timely manner.

o   Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to ensure test alignment with project goals and sprint objectives.

• Performance Monitoring & Reporting

o   Conduct performance and stress testing on trading platforms, payment systems, and other financial tools.

o   Analyze test results and provide clear, concise reports and dashboards to stakeholders.

o   Generate detailed test reports using Extent Reports and provide insights into test coverage and application quality.

• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

o   Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and operations teams, to identify issues early in the development lifecycle.

o   Mentor and support junior QA engineers in test strategies, tools, and best practices for the financial sector.

o   Mentor and train team members on automation techniques and best practices.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent education.
• 3+ years of experience in QA engineering, with a focus on financial services.
• Strong experience in QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., UFT, Selenium, QTP, JMeter, Watermelon).
• Experience with financial software applications, banking systems, or trading platforms is highly desirable.
• Experience in testing complex, high-volume financial systems such as payment gateways, trading platforms, or financial data processing systems.

Skills and Knowledge

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Good team player and positive attitude.
• Domain knowledge and experience in financial industry/payments systems is a plus.
