Assistant Canine Hydrotherapist

Our Team is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, organized, with an independent and engaging forward-thinking mind and passionate towards pets (namely Dogs) to join us as an Experienced Canine Hydrotherapy Trainee/‘Trainer’ to support the start-up and growth of the Business.

Being an integral part of the Team / Management, a successful candidate’s responsibilities include but not limited to:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to conduct private (one-on-one) and group swimming sessions with our customer’s dogs. The ‘Trainer’s’ responsibilities include evaluating dogs' temperaments and behaviour throughout the whole swim full session, ensure that the dogs are always safe and enjoying themselves, providing regular progress updates to clients, and teaching clients the benefits of swimming for dogs. You should also be able to answer clients' questions regarding benefits of hydrotherapy, our company’s services and the company vision.

To be successful, you should be patient and passionate about swimming with dogs and managing both the dog and the owners. Ultimately, an exceptional Dog Trainer should have sound knowledge of various dog training techniques and demonstrate excellent communication, dog handling, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with dog handling
• Love and passion for dogs
• No degree or diploma needed
• Effective communication skills
• Patient and enthusiastic

Requirements:

• Sound knowledge of dog training techniques as well as animal behaviour and body language.
• Problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong dog handling skills.
• Educating clients on benefits of swimming and to discuss training needs.
• Developing suitable training plans for dogs and documenting their progress.
• Ensuring that the training areas are clean and tidy.
• Shower and blow dry if necessary
• Work on weekends will be required
