Job Description - HR Assistant Manager

Monthly salary: $6000-$7000

The HR Assistant Manager supports the Human Resources Manager in overseeing the full spectrum of HR functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations, while driving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job posting, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate with department heads on manpower planning and staffing requirements.
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and related hiring documentation.

2. Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and HR-related matters.
  • Assist in resolving employee grievances, disciplinary issues, and workplace conflicts.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.

3. Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Support payroll administration and ensure timely submission of payroll information.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including leave, insurance, medical claims, and wellness initiatives.
  • Monitor employee attendance, overtime, and leave records.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of HR records and databases.

4. Performance Management

  • Assist in implementing performance appraisal systems and annual review processes.
  • Monitor employee probation confirmations and contract renewals.
  • Support managers in setting performance objectives and development plans.
  • Prepare performance-related reports and analytics.

5. Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
  • Manage training schedules, registrations, and records.
  • Support career development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.

6. HR Policies & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Singapore employment laws, MOM regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating employee handbooks, HR policies, and procedures.
  • Support audits and ensure proper HR documentation is maintained.
  • Handle work pass applications, renewals, and cancellations where applicable.

7. HR Operations & Administration

  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
  • Prepare HR reports, manpower statistics, and management reports.
  • Monitor HR budgets and departmental expenditures.
  • Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives.

8. Leadership & Team Support

  • Supervise HR Executives, HR Assistants, or HR Administrators where applicable.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior HR team members.
  • Support the HR Manager in strategic HR planning and organizational development initiatives.
  • Act as the HR Manager's representative during their absence.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field. Familiar with Singapore MOM procedures and CPF matters
  • Experience in payroll, work pass handling, or HR administration preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore Employment Act, MOM regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Responsible, well-organised and detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
