Operations Assistant

Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Daily Inspections & Incident Reporting

• Conduct daily school walkabouts to check for potential mosquito breeding grounds, pest control issues, and acts of vandalism.

• Inspect the campus for water blockages, building seepage, and maintain strict monitoring of canteen hygiene standards.

• Report any operational incidents or defects immediately.

2. General Maintenance & Contractor Supervision

• Escort and provide direct supervision to various Term Contractors (e.g., building maintenance, electrical contractors) while they perform repair works on school grounds.

• Execute simple, hands-on repairs and carpentry work, such as the cutting of padlocks.

• Resolve simple electrical issues and faults, such as handling power trips.

• Assist in putting up decorations for school events and festive occasions.

3. Landscaping & Estate Management

• Monitor campus greenery, identify plants that require trimming, and inform or supervise grass-cutting Term Contractors.

• Oversee regular maintenance of the school fishpond.

• Maintain the school spice garden, ensuring the area is kept neat, tidy, and free from mosquito breeding.

4. Logistics & Other Duties

• Assist in managing and maintaining the school’s Emergency Store.

• Provide prompt, detailed feedback on the work quality and status of term contractors.

• Perform any other ad-hoc operational duties as requested by School Leaders and the Operations Manager.

🎯 Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Minimum of an "N" Level Certificate or equivalent.

• Experience: At least 2 years of working experience in a similar job scope, facilities management, or landscaping works. (Prior experience working in a school environment is highly preferred).

Skills & Attributes

• Excellent team player who is highly organized, meticulous, and possesses the ability to multi-task effectively.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with contract cleaners, term contractors, and school staff.

• Must possess an acceptable level of physical fitness and resilience to perform active, hands-on maintenance tasks effectively.
  

  Overview

  • Contract Period: 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027

  • Extension Option: Option to extend for a further period from 1 January 2028 to 31 December 2028

  • Reporting to: Operations Manager and School Leaders

  ⏰ Working Hours

  • Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)

  • Fridays: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)

  • Rest Days: Services are not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
