Job Description - Quantity Surveyor (QS)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quotations, cost estimates, and tender submissions.
  • Measure quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ).
  • Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Compare supplier and subcontractor quotations and recommend cost-effective options.
  • Prepare project budgets and monitor project costs.
  • Handle project claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts.
  • Prepare progress claims and payment certificates.
  • Verify subcontractor claims and invoices.
  • Monitor project progress against budget.
  • Assist with contract administration and documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Attend site meetings when required.
  • Maintain proper project records and cost reports.
  • Support management with cost analysis and reporting.
  • Perform other QS-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant QS experience (fresh graduates may be considered depending on qualifications).
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costing.
  • Able to read construction drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and AutoCAD (preferred).
  • Familiarity with measurement and tendering.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in renovation, building, or interior fit-out projects.
  • Experience preparing tender documents.
  • Knowledge of variation orders and final accounts.
  • Familiarity with Singapore construction practices.

    Site Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel to project sites for site inspections, measurements, and meetings.
  • May be required to work or attend site during night shifts, weekends, or after office hours when project requirements demand.

    Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday
    (8.30am-5.30pm)
    Saturday (8.30am-12.30pm)

  • Night site visits or night work may be required depending on project schedules.
