Job Summary

Metta Home for the Disabled provides long-term residential care for adults with intellectual and multiple disabilities. As a Social Work Assistant, you will support Social Workers and the multidisciplinary team to enhance residents’ well-being, coordinate programmes, and provide administrative support for smooth social work service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Social Work team by managing filing, data entry, scheduling, and preparing reports and documents to ensure efficient operations
• Assist Social Workers with case administration and client follow-ups to maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
• Coordinate client appointments, referrals, meetings, and home visits to facilitate timely and effective service delivery
• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of programmes, events, and community engagement activities to enhance resident and family involvement
• Maintain accurate client documentation while ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards
• Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to support coordinated service delivery
• Assist with general centre operations and perform other duties as assigned to support team functions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Community Care & Social Services, Social Work, Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields
• Prior experience in social service, healthcare, community care, or administrative support roles
• Experience in programme coordination, case administration, or client support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills demonstrated through effective teamwork and independent work
• Compassionate and proactive approach in supporting persons with disabilities and contributing to quality care and services
