ASSISTANT BUILDING CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide support during emergency outages and ensure efficient workflow across all project processes.
• Prepare shop drawings and follow up on comments, revisions, and approvals.
• Utilize AutoCAD for drafting and drawing preparation (preferred).
• Attend project safety meetings and site coordination meetings.
• Schedule and coordinate site access arrangements for material deliveries with the main contractor.
• Monitor and track material delivery schedules to ensure timely project execution.
• Monitor daily site work progress and provide regular updates and feedback.
• Implement variation works based on revised drawings and instructions received from consultants or contractors.
• Conduct follow-up site testing and inspections as required.
• Carry out project commissioning activities in accordance with the main contractor’s timeline and requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
• Compile and submit Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
• Ensure all project documentation is properly maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Able to independently perform structural design and strength calculations.
• Proficient in engineering and design software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar applications.
• Knowledge of map creation and photo-imaging software will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design work.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive, proactive, and responsible attitude.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including day and night shifts when required.
• Committed to complying with the company's policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to long-term employment and career development with the company.
• Possession of a valid Singapore Class 3 and/or Class 4 driving licence will be an added advantage.
• Able to manage, coordinate, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
