Assistant Engineer, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

• 5 days work week

• Industry: Shipyard, Marine

Job Scope:

• Arrange and lead EHS kick-off meeting before vessel arrival
• Support EHS Engineer and Manager in enhancing Safety Management Systems
• Supervise and manage hazards before work begins
• Conduct certification for hot work and hazardous tasks
• Aid in arranging VSCC meetings and maintaining relevant records
• Coordinate the implementation of permit-to-work system
• Organize deployment of confined space attendants and fire watchmen
• Keep the vessel safety coordination board updated
• Manage inspection of firefighting and rescue equipment on vessels
• Spearhead the implementation of project EHS plan and accident prevention measures
• Oversee project risk management efforts
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses
• Conduct performance evaluations for confined space attendants
• Ensure adherence to HSE regulations
• Assist in assigning responsibility levels for hot work and confined space assessors
• Fulfill other duties as instructed by EHS Engineer and Manager

Job requirement:

• Diploma/Degree Qualification in Building/EHS/Engineering related studies
• Possess Hotwork Assessor Certification & Confined Space Assessor Certification are added advantage
• Good understanding of Workplace Safety & Health Act & Shipbuilding & Ship Repairs regulation
