Assistant Scaffold Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Scaffold Manager to support the management of scaffolding operations for construction, maintenance, shutdown and turnaround projects within the process industry. The successful candidate will assist in planning, coordinating and supervising scaffolding activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with statutory and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Scaffold Manager in overseeing all scaffolding activities across multiple project sites.
• Plan and coordinate scaffold erection, modification, inspection and dismantling works to support project schedules.
• Supervise Scaffold Supervisors, Scaffold Inspectors, and Scaffold Erectors to ensure safe and productive work execution.
• Coordinate manpower deployment, equipment allocation and material requirements to meet operational demands.
• Monitor scaffold productivity, work progress and resource utilization.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, client requirements and company procedures.
• Review and verify scaffold requests, drawings, inspection reports and handover documentation.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers, contractors and subcontractors regarding scaffolding requirements and work schedules.
• Support project planning activities including preparation of method statements, risk assessments, lifting plans and permit-to-work requirements.
• Assist in managing large scaffold workforces during plant shutdowns and turnaround activities.
• Ensure scaffolding materials are properly maintained, inspected and accounted for.
• Investigate incidents, unsafe conditions and non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate project records.
• Support recruitment, training, mentoring and performance management of scaffolding personnel.
