Assistant Technical Manager (Design Coordination)

Our esteemed client in the Construction industry is seeking an Assistant Technical Manager (Design Coordination) to join their dynamic team:

• Employment Type: Permanent
• Position: Assistant Technical Manager (Design Coordination) 
• Location: Islandwide
• Working Hours: 5.5 days, Office Hours
• Salary Package: Basic + Bonus

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and guide a team of design and coordination engineers to align engineering drawings with consultant requirements, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and project specifications.
• Lead the team in drafting, preparing, and compiling critical technical documentation, including shop drawings, material approvals, and construction method statements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and bridge the gap between clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on all design and technical matters.
• Monitor and drive the submission pipeline to local regulatory authorities to secure timely clearances and compliance approvals.
• Take charge of resolving design conflicts and site-specific technical challenges by collaborating closely with Architectural and M&E teams, consultants, and authorities.
• Evaluate and manage technical inquiries by issuing Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Approval (RFA) to clarify design ambiguities.
• Drive and assess value engineering initiatives aimed at optimizing cost-efficiency, site safety, constructability, and overall project quality.

Job Requirements:

• At least Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in construction or engineering consultancy environment.
• Familiar with local building codes, authority regulations and construction methodologies.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks would be a plus.
