Associate, Construction Disputes & Advisory (Delay)

This position supports the Construction Disputes and Advisory practice - one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.

Our construction dispute resolution professionals provide expert advice and independent professional opinion on some of the world’s largest, most complex, and high-profile capital project disputes. Courts, corporations, and tribunals rely on us to get to the nub of the issue in any given dispute.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a delay analyst to join our Construction Disputes & Advisory Practice in Singapore. As an Associate, you will support and work alongside some of the most highly regarded industry experts in:

  • Performing detailed forensic analysis of project data and schedules to determine the cause and extent of construction delays and productivity loss;
  • Assisting with the preparation of expert reports for domestic and international arbitration and litigation, explaining the delay analysis performed and the results of the analyses; and
  • Providing advice and strategic solutions to clients on complex challenges faced in construction projects and assisting in the preparation of reports for extension of time, loss and expense, disruption, and prolongation claims.

You will work on construction projects across a wide range of industry sectors all over the globe, including oil and gas, building, process plants, power generation, civil infrastructure, and marine projects.

Requirements

  • BSc or BEng in Civil or Mechanical engineering or similar from a leading university
  • Have an understanding of construction processes, management, and planning. Experience of working on engineering, construction projects or in a shipbuilding environment.
  • Have an understanding and passion for wanting to pursue a career in Construction Disputes.
  • Experience of using Primavera or other planning / project management software.
  • Fluent in English and one other language would be beneficial.
  • Outstanding and effective writing skills
  • Have solid analytical, investigative, reasoning and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage work tasks to meet strict deadlines.
  • Be highly motivated, self-starting, curious and have a hunger to learn and develop.
