Job Summary

Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot automation systems for power and oil & gas projects, ensuring effective communication network integration and system commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate engineering teams across disciplines both in-house and at regional execution centers to deliver automation projects.
• Review RFQ documents and interpret PMS schematics and IEC 61850-based engineering systems (MMS and GOOSE) to support load shedding, load sharing, generator control, and synchronization.
• Design and implement communication networks and schemes for PMS using industrial protocols such as RSTP, HSR, PRP, and MRP to ensure reliable system performance.
• Integrate LV/HV switchgear equipment using industrial communication protocols including Modbus, Profibus, and Profinet to enable seamless device communication.
• Collaborate on factory acceptance tests at various factories and conduct testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities at yards and offshore sites to validate system functionality.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot communication networks using specialized tools such as Wireshark, IED Scout, and ITT to resolve technical issues efficiently.

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology with a major in Electrical or Electronics.
• Proven hands-on experience managing and executing Automation projects in Oil & Gas or power industries.
• Proficiency with multiple IEC 61850 editions and cross-integration techniques for system interoperability.
• Understanding and application of cybersecurity concepts relevant to automation systems.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with ABB 800xA control builder, PMS library, and OPC UA protocols to enhance system integration capabilities.
