Business Development Director – Job Responsibilities (Construction & Painting Industry)

1. Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the company's construction and painting services market share.
2. Identify and secure new business opportunities, projects, and contracts with main contractors, developers, property owners, and government agencies.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, project managers, and industry stakeholders.
4. Prepare and submit project proposals, quotations, and tender documents for construction and painting projects.
5. Negotiate contract terms, project scope, pricing, and commercial agreements with clients.
6. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify industry trends and business opportunities.
7. Develop sales targets, business plans, and revenue growth strategies to achieve company objectives.
8. Lead and manage the business development team, providing guidance, training, and performance monitoring.
9. Collaborate with project, operations, and finance teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
10. Attend industry events, networking sessions, and business meetings to promote the company's services and expand its client base.
11. Monitor project pipelines, maintain customer databases, and prepare regular business development reports for management.
12. Identify opportunities for long-term maintenance, repainting, renovation, and construction contracts to generate recurring revenue.
13. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, workplace safety requirements, and company policies when pursuing business opportunities.
14. Support strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations to strengthen the company's position in the construction and painting sector.
15. Drive overall business growth, profitability, and market expansion while maintaining high standards of customer service and professional conduct.

Requirements / Experience

• Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in business development, sales, or project management within the construction or painting industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction projects, painting works, tender processes, and contract management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and client relationship management skills.
• Proven track record in securing construction and painting projects and achieving revenue targets.
