Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly dedicated Business Development Director to drive business growth and project acquisition within Singapore's construction and engineering industry.

This position is suitable only for candidates with extensive hands-on experience in Singapore's construction sector and a proven track record in securing projects, managing client relationships, and supporting project operations from tender stage through completion.

This is not a standard office-based management role. The successful candidate must be prepared to provide operational and business support whenever required, including after office hours, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and secure new construction, engineering, renovation, infrastructure, and maintenance projects.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, project owners, government agencies, and main contractors.

• Source business opportunities through industry networking and market intelligence.

• Lead tender submissions, project negotiations, contract discussions, and project acquisition activities.

• Work closely with project teams to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.

• Provide strategic business planning and market development initiatives.

• Support management in achieving company revenue and growth targets.

• Attend site meetings, client meetings, and project discussions whenever required.

• Be available to provide business and operational support beyond normal working hours when project requirements demand.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 17 years of working experience in Singapore's Construction Industry.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Development, Project Management, Operations Management, or Senior Management roles within the construction sector.

• Proven involvement in multiple large-scale construction, engineering, infrastructure, A&A, fit-out, or maintenance projects in Singapore.

• Strong network of contacts within the Singapore construction industry, including developers, consultants, main contractors, and project owners.

• Thorough understanding of Singapore construction practices, tender processes, project execution, and industry regulations.

• Ability to independently secure projects and generate business opportunities.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

• Degree qualification is not required. Relevant industry experience and proven achievements will be given priority.

Candidates must understand that this is a senior leadership role requiring a high level of commitment and responsibility.

The successful candidate must be:

• Available to attend urgent client, project, and business matters outside normal office hours.

• Willing to support project requirements on weekends and public holidays when necessary.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with demanding project schedules.

• Able to respond promptly to management, client, and project operational requirements.
