Civil Engineer / Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a qualified and analytical Civil Engineer to join our project team on-site. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take charge of the technical engineering, structural integrity, and execution of Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) packages. You will be responsible for resolving engineering issues, preparing method statements, and ensuring all works strictly adhere to engineering designs, local building codes, and rigorous quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Engineering Support: Review C&S design drawings, specifications, and structural calculations to ensure buildability. Identify design discrepancies early and issue Requests for Information (RFI) to consultants.

• Method Statements & Risk Management: Prepare and present detailed Method Statements, Safe Work Procedures, and Risk Assessments for CSA activities, ensuring alignment with stringent safety frameworks.

• Site Engineering & Quality Assurance: Oversee the technical execution of site works (e.g., foundation works, structural steel erection, concrete pouring, cleanroom architectural integration). Ensure all construction meets exact engineering tolerances and quality standards.

• Technical Liaison & Coordination: Act as the primary technical point of contact for resident engineers, consultants, and BIM modelers to resolve site clashes and engineering challenges promptly.

• Testing & Inspection Management: Plan and witness structural inspections, concrete cube tests, soil testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT). Manage the submission of all testing records for eventual handovers.

• Progress tracking: Assist the Project Manager in tracking structural milestones, managing technical variations, and ensuring the project advances according to the master engineering schedule.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Certifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or equivalent.

• Certifications: Possession of a valid Building Construction Supervisors Safety Course (BCSS) or Manage Construction Work for WSH certificate is essential.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience as a Site/Civil Engineer in industrial construction. Direct experience in semiconductor Fab environments, data centers, or advanced manufacturing cleanrooms is a significant advantage.

• Strong proficiency in reading structural blueprints, architectural drawings, and utilizing AutoCAD. (Familiarity with BIM/Revit/Navisworks software is highly valued).

• Solid understanding of Singapore building codes, Eurocodes, and statutory authority requirements (BCA, MOM, NEA).

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent technical writing capabilities, leadership presence to guide site teams, and clear communication skills under pressure.
