Civil Engineer (Construction / Technical Planning)

• Position: Civil Engineer (Construction / Technical Planning)
• Location: Tuas South Street (Company Transport: Provided from Buona Vista and Tuas area)
• Working Hours: 5-day work week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:45pm
• Salary (commensurate with experience): Basic salary up to $5,700 + performance bonus,

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare tender technical logistics plans, construction sequence plans and value engineering visuals with the Technical Manager and project team.
• Prepare architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical survey plans, shop drawings, as-built drawings and detailed drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Prepare topographical maps for civil works, survey setting-out plans, longitudinal sections and cross-sections for submission.
• Develop engineering plans with sectional details for civil and infrastructure works.
• Draft civil and infrastructure drawings in AutoCAD in accordance with project requirements and relevant standards.
• Revise drawings based on project requirements, site conditions, client feedback, consultant comments and internal review.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings comply with project specifications, codes, standards and client requirements.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical input on constructability and technical matters.
• Provide technical support to engineers, coordinators and site teams.
• Conduct routine site checks to ensure construction works align with approved designs, contract specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.
• Recommend corrective actions and value engineering improvements when there are deviations from scope, schedule or quality requirements.
• Ensure detailing complies with regulations and standards before submission to clients or authorities.
• Create, update and interpret architectural drawings to support timely construction progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation and version control for models and drawings.
• Extract 2D drawings, schedules and quantities from models.
• Assist in clash detection, model reviews and design validation exercises.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in civil and structural works.
• Experience with main contractors will be advantageous.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and relevant drafting software or tools.
• Knowledge of BIM execution plans, BIM standards and coordination processes will be advantageous.
• Familiar with regulatory requirements, including BCA, SCDF, LTA, PUB and URA requirements.
• Knowledge of ISO, bizSAFE or Green and Gracious Builder Scheme requirements will be advantageous.
• Strong commercial value engineering awareness, cost awareness, critical thinking and document control discipline.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage drawings, documentation and technical coordination accurately.
