Construction Manager

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about construction and engineering.
• The ideal candidate would be a construction manager or site project manager with 15+ year of experience in the construction industry with a strong background on MEP systems site supervision who is ready for a new challenge in advanced industrial design systems projects and renewable energy.
• The candidate should have previous experience on construction quality supervision for MEP systems and feel comfortable with communicating at different levels from subcontractors to the final users.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review, control, and report back to the Client on the status of the quality of the installation of MEP systems on site
• Manage a site team comprising Resident Engineer and MEP RTOs one MEP RE and three MEP RTOs who will be carrying out day-to-day tasks
• As a key member of the Client team on site, be the key interface point between the Client and the Contractor when either the Client’s team members or the Client’s other vendors need to attend site
• Collaborate, challenge and advise the contractor in relation to the quality and programme of the installation
• Attend regular site meetings with the Contractor
• Support the Engineering Manager on the management of the Request For Approval system and the technical team responses
• Support the change control coordinator on the management of the change control forms MEP changes originated on site reviews
• Actively contribute and provide progress reports on the weekly progress meetings with the Client
• Contribute to the observation, feedback and continuous improvement of HSE practices.
• Be comfortable using digital systems including Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint, Word, Excel and Construction EDMS's such as Bentley ProjectWise
• Support with other project management tasks if delegated by the lead Project Manager/ Construction Project Manager/ Package Manager (MEP)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in MEP engineering or demonstrable experience in construction management of MEP systems
• Knowledge on MEP installation methods
• Construction supervision and quality control experience
• Understand programmes and capable of reviewing progress on site (actual vs planned)
• High quality spoken and written communications and reporting skills
• Working interactions with client from international backgrounds
• 15+ years working experience in engineering and construction industry
• Enjoys fast-paced and changing environments
• Has a creative mind-set and likes solving problems
• Knowledge on the local standards, authority process and relevant construction regulations
• Experience in the data centers, pharmaceutical or manufacturing plants an advantage
• Able to maintain high standards and aspirations for Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing
