Contracts Manager - Civil & Construction

About the Role

Our client (international MNC) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to oversee the full spectrum of contract administration for large-scale civil and construction projects, including potentially mixed-use, industrial and/or commercial developments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing contractual and commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and safeguarding the company's commercial interests.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all pre- and post-contract administration activities for construction projects.

Review, negotiate, interpret and administer contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and othercontractual documents.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and applicable regulations.

Prepare, evaluate and manage tender documentation, contract variations, extension of time (EOT) claims, and cost claims.

Identify, assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks throughout project execution.

Lead negotiations and resolve contractual disputes with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Work closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement and Legal teams to ensure contractual compliance and commercial success.

Monitor project costs, contractual milestones and payment processes to maximise project profitability.

Provide contractual advice and guidance to project teams on contract interpretation and risk management.

Maintain accurate records of contractual correspondence, claims and project documentation.

Support senior management with commercial reporting, contract strategies and project performance reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree – Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in contract management within the civil engineering or construction industry.
• Proven experience managing contracts for large-scale infrastructure, mixed-use, commercial or building construction projects in Singapore.
• Strong knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (e.g. PSSCOC, SIA, FIDIC or equivalent).
• Good understanding of Singapore construction regulations and industry practices.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with contract management software is an advantage.
