Data Centre Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1.    Oversee the delivery of quality operations and maintenance services, including preventive and corrective maintenance work, addition and alteration work, renovation works, performed by Contractors and subcontractors.

2.    Attend to all emergencies/incidents, planned works (e.g. shutdown maintenance) on weekdays and/or weekends, public holidays if required.

3.    Maintain situational awareness of data center performance and propose recommendations to improve or achieve power usage efficiency stipulated by client / Authority.

4.    Conduct energy optimization studies and recommend improvements (e.g., airflow management, containment strategies, setpoint optimization).

5.    Develop and propose improvements to all maintenance-related SOPs and work processes with the Authority and the Operations Team, and work closely with operation steams to implement EOPs/MOPs for mechanical system interventions.

6.    Assist client / authority with assessment of work proposal submitted by the Operations Team and provide technical input for work proposal.

7.    Participate in risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and incident investigations related to cooling systems.

8.      Ensure all works comply with relevant standards, contractual requirements and regulatory requirements.

9.      Review root cause analysis of incidents / emergencies and recovery plans when required.

Required Qualifications

1.    Bachelor’s Degree / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field

2.    Additional certifications relevant to theindustry is an added advantage 

3.    3-5 years’ experience maintainingelectrical, mechanical, fire protection system in a data centre environment

4.    Experience and knowledge of MEP equipmentsuch as CAHU, CRAC, ACMV systems, pumps, cooling towers, UPS, generators, etc.

5.    Strong technical expertise in thermalmanagement, cooling load calculations, and energy efficiency improvements,supporting design and upgrading of cooling systems in data centre environments.

6.    Strong problem-solving abilities,communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of ateam

7.    Strong written and verbal communication skills

8.    Proficient in Computer skills e.g. Microsoft office, google emails
