Designer/ DRAUGHTSMAN (Construction)

Job Description:
The Designer is responsible for supporting the design, coordination, and implementation of construction-related technical solutions for projects in Singapore. This role supports the development of aluminum formwork, safety screens, precast moulds, system formwork, and other construction or engineering products in accordance with project requirements, customer needs, and company technical standards. The position works closely with HQ designers, commercial teams, project teams, and clients to ensure accurate technical drawings, practical engineering solutions, and smooth project coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Technical Support

· Assist in preparing and revising technical drawings, shop drawings, layout plans, and design proposals for construction projects.

· Support the design and development of aluminum formwork, safety screens, precast moulds, system formwork, and other construction-related products and technical solutions.

· Assist in developing customized technical solutions to suit project specifications, customer requirements, and company product directions.

· Coordinate with HQ designers and engineering teams to ensure design accuracy, practicality, and timely submission of drawings and technical documents.

· Review structural drawings, project specifications, and technical requirements to support design development and implementation.

· Assist in material quantity calculations, technical detailing, and preparation of supporting engineering documents.

· Provide technical support to project teams and site personnel during installation and construction stages.

Project & Client Coordination 

· Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal departments regarding technical proposals, product solutions, and project requirements.

· Assist commercial and business development teams in presenting technical solutions and supporting customer discussions.

· Attend project meetings, technical discussions, and site coordination meetings when required.

· Support communication and coordination between Singapore project teams and HQ technical departments.

· Assist in collecting site feedback and customer requirements to improve product application and design optimization.

Operational & Documentation Support

· Maintain and organize project drawings, technical records, design revisions, and engineering documentation.

· Ensure proper version control and timely updating of technical information and submissions.

· Monitor design submission schedules and support timely coordination with relevant stakeholders.

· Support compliance with company procedures, project standards, safety requirements, and engineering practices.

General Support

· Assist management with technical reports, presentations, product proposals, and project coordination matters.

· Support the company in developing and improving new products and engineering solutions for the Singapore market.

· Perform other ad-hoc technical, engineering, and design-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education:

· Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

Experience:

· Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience in construction design, engineering coordination, or technical support roles.

· Experience in aluminum formwork, safety screens, precast moulds, temporary works, or related construction systems is preferred.

· Candidates with construction site, formwork installation, or engineering project experience will have an added advantage.

· Junior Executive or Executive-level candidates are welcome.

Language Proficiency:

· Proficient in English.

· Able to read and write Chinese to liaise with HQ designers and Chinese-speaking colleagues or customers.

Skills & Competencies:

· Basic knowledge of construction drawings, structural details, engineering coordination, and construction methodologies.

· Familiar with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit or other relevant design and drafting software.

· Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to work with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

· Willingness to learn, responsible, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

· Able to support customized technical solutions and adapt designs according to project and customer requirements.
