Job Description - Director

Job Summary

As a Managing Director, you will provide visionary leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight to align the organization with its mission and goals, driving performance and fostering a culture of excellence to achieve success.

Responsibilities

  • Set strategic direction by defining clear organizational goals, objectives, and priorities aligned with the mission and vision
  • Develop and execute business strategies and initiatives to increase growth, profitability, and market competitiveness
  • Lead senior management and department heads by providing guidance, support, and accountability to meet organizational objectives
  • Oversee daily operations across finance, human resources, marketing, sales, and other functions to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor organizational performance and financial metrics, analyze KPIs, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging creativity and initiative in all operational areas
  • Build and sustain relationships with investors, board members, partners, customers, employees, and community stakeholders to advocate for the organization
  • Drive business development by identifying and pursuing new markets, opportunities, and partnerships to expand revenue streams
  • Lead change management and transformation initiatives to adapt to market trends, technology advances, and competitive pressures
  • Manage financial resources, budgets, and investments to optimize allocation and maximize return on investment and shareholder value
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards to maintain integrity, transparency, and accountability
  • Lead crisis management and risk mitigation by proactively identifying threats to reputation, finances, and operations and implementing solutions
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and equal opportunity for all employees
  • Communicate organizational updates, progress, and strategic insights effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent the organization as the primary spokesperson in public forums, media, and industry events

Required competencies and certifications

  • Proven executive leadership experience with a track record of driving organizational growth, transformation, and performance improvement
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and formulate effective strategies
  • Exceptional leadership skills including vision, decisiveness, resilience, and team motivation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence diverse stakeholders
  • Financial management expertise including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and capital allocation
  • Ability to navigate complex business environments, make difficult decisions, and lead change initiatives effectively
  • Knowledge of relevant industries, markets, and regulatory environments
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in leadership and business conduct
  • Adaptability and agility to manage ambiguity and complexity confidently in dynamic environments

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, Building and Construction, or related field
  • Master’s degree or MBA
