Summary                    

A Drafter (Building & Civil Engineering)is responsible for producing accurate construction drawings using AutoCAD for building and infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing and revising civil, structural, and architectural drawings, coordinating with engineers and project teams, and ensuring all drawings comply with project specifications and regulatory standards. The drafter also supports site verification, drawing submissions, and resolution of technical design issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and update civil, structural, and architectural drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for building and civil engineering projects.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and calculations to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of drawings to clients, consultants, and relevant authorities.
• Conduct site visits and measurements to verify existing conditions and update drawings where necessary.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain proper drawing records, revisions, and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project teams in resolving design and construction-related drawing discrepancies.
• Liaise with various disciplines to ensure proper coordination of civil, structural, architectural, and M&E drawings.
• Attend site postings as and when required to support project coordination and drawing verification.

Job Requirements

• Diploma, Higher NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Building, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant drafting experience in building construction and civil engineering projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Ability to prepare and modify civil, structural, shop, and as-built drawings independently.
• Able to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of BIM/Revit software will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with local construction practices, standards, and authority requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
