Electrical Engineer (Data Centre)

Key Responsibilities

1.    Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.

2.    Manage electrical system upgrades, replacement / installation projects, and lifecycle planning.

3.    Lead and support electrical systems’ upgrades and retrofits, ensuring minimal disruption to live data center operations.

4.    Evaluate system performance using KPIs such as:

- Power Usage Effectiveness

- System Efficiency

5.    Conduct energy optimization studies and recommend improvements (e.g., airflow management, containment strategies, setpoint optimization).

6.    Support capacity planning and future expansion work based on IT load growth.

7.    Review electrical engineering drawings, method statements, and ensure compliance with design intent and operational requirements.

8.    Work closely with operations teams to implement EOPs/MOPs for electrical system interventions.

9.    Participate in risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and incident investigations related to electrical systems.

10.  Ensure all works comply with relevant standards and regulatory requirements in Singapore.

Qualifications

1.    Bachelor’s Degree / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

2.    Additional certifications relevant to the industry is an added advantage 

3.    At least 2 years’ experience maintaining electrical, mechanical, fire protection system in a data centre environment with concurrently maintainable electrical infrastructure

4.    Experience and knowledge of MEP equipment such as UPS, generators, synchronizing controls, etc.

5.    Strong technical expertise in thermal management, cooling load calculations, and energy efficiency improvements, supporting design and upgrading of cooling systems in data centre environments.

6.    Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

7.    Strong written and verbal communication skills

8.    Proficient in Computer skills e.g. Microsoft office, google emails, docs etc.
