Engineering Manager (Shipyard)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering support and assist the marketing team in retaining existing clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities within the shipbuilding division.

• Support commercial newbuild and ship repair teams during tender exercises for newbuilding and conversion projects.

• Assess contract terms, technical specifications, and equipment requirements to ensure alignment with design obligations.

• Develop initial design concepts that support newbuilding tender submissions.

• Establish drawing schedules and coordinate technical meetings with clients, classification societies, designers, vendors, and system integrators.

• Implement design and engineering production plans for awarded newbuilding projects.

• Interpret classification rules and maritime regulations; review and understand design drawings.

• Collaborate effectively within a team while also handling tasks independently.

Requirements

• Polytechnic Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a closely related field.

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in the marine or offshore sectors.

• Sound understanding of shipbuilding processes and project workflows; capable of reviewing technical specifications and engaging in client discussions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Good interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.

• Willingness to travel overseas (e.g., Indonesia, Taiwan, and other countries) for technical meetings.
