Environmental Control Officer (ECO)

Job Description

• Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to ensure compliance with environmental health and hygiene standards.
• Monitor housekeeping, waste management, pest control, and sanitation practices.
• Identify environmental health hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Carry out risk assessments related to environmental hygiene and infection control.
• Investigate environmental or hygiene-related incidents and prepare reports.
• Organize and conduct environmental health awareness and training sessions for employees.
• Liaise with government authorities, clients, contractors, and service providers on environmental health matters.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, corrective actions, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor the performance of cleaning and pest control contractors to ensure service standards are met.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• Certified Environmental Control Officer (ECO) qualification recognized by the relevant authority.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in environmental health, facilities management, healthcare, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Good knowledge of environmental health regulations, workplace hygiene, and infection prevention practices.
• Strong observation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work on-site and respond to operational requirements when necessary.
• Experience in conducting inspections, audits, and staff training is an advantage.
