M&E Coordinator

1. Job Summary

The M&E Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising mechanical and electrical works for retail fit-out projects in shopping malls. The role ensures that projects are completed according to specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules while liaising with clients, consultants, mall management, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.

2. Duties & Responsibilities

a) Project Coordination

• Coordinate and oversee electrical and M&E work from project commencement to completion.
• Liaise with clients, interior designers, consultants, mall management, landlords, and subcontractors on project requirements.
• Attend site meetings, technical meetings, and coordination meetings.
• Ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Coordinate multiple retail fit-out projects simultaneously.

b) Site Supervision

• Supervise daily site activities and monitor work progress.
• Ensure all installation works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and local regulations.
• Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Resolve technical and site issues promptly to minimize delays.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship meets company quality standards.

c) Documentation & Administration

• Prepare and submit shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, and as-built drawings.
• Monitor project documentation, including RFIs, variation orders, and progress reports.
• Maintain proper records of site activities and project documentation.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, and project handover documentation.

d) Procurement & Material Coordination

• Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment according to project schedules.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
• Verify material specifications and quantities before installation.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding deliveries and technical matters.

e) Client & Mall Management Coordination

• Liaise closely with shopping mall management regarding: Work permits, Renovation permits, Night work applications, Access arrangements, Safety requirements, Inspection schedules, Coordinate shutdowns, and power-on/power-off arrangements where required.

f) Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations.
• Ensure all workers comply with site safety rules and mall regulations.
• Identify and report safety hazards immediately.
• Ensure proper housekeeping at project sites.

g) Quality Control

• Inspect completed works before submission to clients.
• Rectify defects and coordinate defect rectification works.
• Ensure projects are completed to clients' satisfaction.
• Support final inspections and project handovers.

h) Other Duties

• Assist the Project Manager in project planning and execution.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.
• Candidates with relevant technical certifications and experience are welcome to apply
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical or M&E coordination.
• Experience in retail fit-out, commercial renovations, shopping mall projects, or interior fit-out is highly preferred.
• Experience coordinating with shopping mall management is an advantage.
• Good understanding of electrical systems and M&E installations.
• Able to interpret electrical drawings and construction plans.
• Familiar with Singapore electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of BCA, EMA,SCDF, and Workplace Safety &Health requirements is advantageous.
• Able to work night shift and on weekends when required.
