Job Description - Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning works.
  • Prepare work schedules, manpower allocation, and daily work plans to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and method statements before execution.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Prepare material requisitions and ensure timely procurement of mechanical equipment and spare parts.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical system issues and recommend effective technical solutions.
  • Supervise preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and emergency repair works for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure proper documentation, including service reports, inspection records, maintenance logs, and project progress reports.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover of completed mechanical systems.
  • Monitor the performance and productivity of technicians and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical advice when required.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned by the management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, or construction projects.
  • Experience in mechanical systems such as pumps, ventilation systems, jet fans, HVAC, piping, or industrial equipment is an advantage.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Familiar with Singapore WSH regulations and safe work practices.
  • Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess a Class 3 driving licence (preferred, if site travel is required).

Working Conditions:

  • Work may involve both office and site-based duties.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple project sites across Singapore.
  • May be required to work after office hours, weekends, or public holidays when necessary to support project or maintenance operations.
