Newbuilding HSE supervisor

Job Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for developing and improving the safety management plans and various safety regulations for the supervision team.

2. Cooperate with the shipyard to conduct safety supervision at the construction site, ensuring that the working environment, equipment, facilities, and safety protection measures comply with standards.

3. Regularly organize safety inspections and hazard identification, track the implementation of corrective measures, and oversee safety training and education for supervision team members and sub-contractors to enhance their safety awareness and skills.

4. Develop and organize emergency response drills to improve the team’s ability to handle unexpected incidents.

5. Monitor the shipyard’s implementation of safety measures to ensure all approvals and protective measures are properly executed.

6. Promote the development of a project safety culture, advocate safety principles, and regularly organize and conduct safety meetings.

7. Prepare project safety reports and safety circulars, and maintain safety management-related records, logs, and documents.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Safety Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a ship-related field.

2. At least 20 years of experience in shipbuilding industry construction sites, with familiarity of shipyard working environments.

3. Candidates with 5+ years of on-site safety management experience in the shipbuilding industry are preferred. Familiarity with shipbuilding processes, high-risk operations (e.g., hot work, working at heights, lifting, confined spaces), and safety regulations is highly desirable.

4. Experience in liquefied gas carrier newbuilding projects and possession of an internationally recognized Explosion Protection Inspection Certificate.

5. Adherence to safety principles and strong management courage; excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with frontline workers, team leaders, supervisors, and manufacturers to drive issue resolution.

6. Meticulous, proactive, and able to work under pressure; strong execution skills and a sense of closed-loop management.

7. Good physical health, capable of adapting to high-intensity and high-pressure work environments.
