[PERM] Quantity Surveyor (Construction projects)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Provide cost advice during project planning and collaborate with design and engineering teams.
• Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Support tendering activities, including preparation, evaluation, and contract negotiation.
• Review contractor and supplier submissions to ensure compliance with project and budget requirements.
• Monitor project costs, identify variations, and implement cost control measures.
• Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize costs while maintaining quality.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, proactively addressing potential cost overruns.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, providing regular cost and financial updates.
• Apply contract law principles in tender and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to cost

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional accreditation is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction or built environment sector.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, numerical, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across teams and offices.
• Strong presentation skills, with experience in supervising, training, and mentoring staff.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
• Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Professional and effective in dealing with clients, stakeholders, management, and external parties.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
