Project Engineer

Job Summary

Provide essential support and co-lead with Construction and Project Managers to manage project controls documentation, schedule coordination, procurement assistance, subcontractor coordination, and project closeout activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support and co-lead with Construction and Project Managers to receive, log, review, track, expedite, and distribute submittals, RFIs, and other project controls documentation
• Review submittals returned from Architect or Engineer and notify the Project Team of potential cost or schedule impacts based on review comments
• Develop a comprehensive working knowledge of contract documents including plans, specifications, and schedules to support project execution
• Collect, assemble, and distribute various weekly project reports to keep stakeholders informed
• Assist Project Manager, Superintendent, and Procurement with purchasing, expediting, and receiving materials and equipment for the project
• Assist in preparing, issuing, and receiving bid packages between field teams and procurement for review and tabulation
• Manage the project schedule regularly by identifying schedule conflicts and assisting Construction and Project Managers in resolving them
• Actively coordinate subcontractors and manage quality control on site to ensure compliance with project standards
• Manage and maintain all project documentation to ensure the Construction team has access to the most current project information
• Drive the Project Team to complete all required project closeout documents on time, including turnover packages, as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, owner training, punch lists, and related items
• Assist with scheduling Project Team meetings, including taking and issuing meeting minutes as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience working on construction projects
