Project Engineer (Electrical)

Job Summary

Lead and manage all electrical works execution, ensuring compliance with specifications, timely completion, budget control, and strong client relationships for successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical work costings to ensure budget alignment and cost-effectiveness
• Review and verify shop drawings for compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements before submission
• Liaise and conduct meetings with clients and consultants to resolve technical issues, clarify requirements, and facilitate inspections and submissions
• Serve as the primary contact for all electrical-related matters, providing clear communication and issue resolution
• Attend weekly site meetings to coordinate project progress and address challenges
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to meet and exceed client expectations
• Manage, coordinate, and supervise workers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure proper execution and high-quality workmanship
• Plan, implement, and track work progress, submitting weekly progress reports to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Monitor project costs including variations and prepare supporting documentation for cost control
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation for all electrical works
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution and successful handover to clients
• Follow safety procedures, rules, and regulations to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards and ensure a safe working environment
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project and company objectives

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical works execution and project management
• Proficient knowledge of installation of M&E services and builder’s works
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player
• Proactive approach with the ability to take initiative in problem-solving and project execution
• Skilled in negotiation to manage vendors and subcontractors effectively
• Proficient in PC literacy, including MS Office applications
