Purchasing Executive @Jurong Island

Job Summary

Assist procurement activities in the construction industry by sourcing suppliers, managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and supporting customs clearance and documentation processes at Jurong Island (Power Plant).

Responsibilities

• Source and compare quotes from local and overseas suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality
• Follow up on purchase orders, delivery schedules, and order confirmations to maintain timely procurement
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and ensure on-time receipt of materials
• Maintain and update procurement records and supplier databases for accurate tracking
• Support bidding and inquiry processes by gathering and organizing necessary documentation
• Coordinate with internal teams to assess material requirements and monitor stock levels
• Assist in preparing procurement documents and drafting basic contracts to support procurement operations
• Track and organize shipping, customs clearance, and transport documents to facilitate smooth import processes
• Perform administrative duties including filing, data entry, and invoice tracking to support procurement workflow

Required competencies and certifications

• Experience in procurement within the construction industry (Essential as per "Necessary conditions: If you have not worked in a construction company, please do not submit your resume.")
• Familiarity with Singapore suppliers of steel, cable, hardware, pipe fittings, and related construction materials
• Understanding of licensing or certification requirements for importing special materials, such as FPC certification for imported steel
• Knowledge of basic customs clearance processes
