The Quality Control Engineer (Electrical) is responsible for ensuring all electrical installation works comply with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. The role oversees inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with consultants, LEW, and subcontractors to ensure high‑quality and timely project delivery.
1. Quality Inspection & Compliance
Conduct daily inspections of electrical works including cabling, containment, trunking, conduits, DB installation, earthing, lighting, and power circuits.
Ensure all works comply with SS638, CP5, EMA regulations, SP PowerGrid requirements, and approved drawings.
Review and verify workmanship quality, highlight defects, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
2. Testing & Commissioning
Prepare and execute T&C procedures for LV systems, distribution boards, earth resistance, insulation resistance, continuity tests, and emergency systems.
Coordinate with LEW, consultants, and main contractor for inspection and energisation activities.
Document all test results and ensure proper sign‑off.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Material Inspection Reports (MIR), Work Inspection Requests (WIR), NCR logs, and closure reports.
Maintain accurate QC records, red‑line drawings, and as‑built documentation.
Support preparation of handover dossiers, O&M manuals, and compliance certificates.
4. Site Coordination
Work closely with subcontractors to ensure proper installation sequence and adherence to project timelines.
Coordinate with civil, structural, and M&E teams to resolve technical issues and avoid clashes.
Monitor site safety practices and ensure compliance with WSH requirements.
5. Technical Support
Investigate electrical faults or installation issues and recommend corrective measures.
Provide technical guidance to supervisors and electricians.
Review method statements, shop drawings, and material submissions.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2–5 years of QC or electrical construction experience (preferably in Singapore).
Strong knowledge of SS638, CP5, EMA and SP regulations.
Experience in electrical installation, testing & commissioning.
Good understanding of construction site processes and safety requirements.
Strong documentation, coordination, and communication skills.
